Provides students with ability to recognize and treat the four major life threats as follows:
- Heart Attack
- Cardiac Arrest
- Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) / Choking
All the above are covered for treatment of adults, children and infants. It also covers CPR and the use of the very important AED (Defibrillator) device, which can be so important in the initial minutes following cardiac arrest, in both adults and children.
Designed for Healthcare Professionals, the course covers use of BVM device, pulse checks, use of a paediatric defibrillation and oxygen administration it also includes 2 rescuer Scenarios. The students will be assessed on their practical skills while working as part of a team. This course differs from the CFR responder course by the use of BVM, pulse checks, use of paediatric defibrillation and oxygen administration.
Ideal course for Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics requiring a qualification in CPR and AED.
IHF Practical Assessment.
Certificate issued by the Irish Heart Foundation and valid for 2 years will be issued to each successful student.
